The Skincare Organizer You Need In Your Life

With the copious amount of skincare that you guys know I have, it would be a disaster if I didn’t properly organize all of it. Today, I’m sharing the product that truly made me feel less overwhelmed when it came to my skincare.

I have a one-sink bathroom with minimal counter space. You can imagine that that conflicts with being able to display all of my products and have them easily accessible. I was cramming cremes and cleansers into a tiny space which looked awful & simultaneously stressed me out to have to look at.

Anyway, let’s get to the point: I got a rotating, customizable beauty organizer off of Amazon and my life, and counter, was forever changed. It’s called the sanipoe 360 Rotating Makeup Organizer & I’m obsessed! The shelving on it is customizable so you can move them up and down to different heights for different sized products.

I now can display over 30 products in a 12 inch space!

As for the actual organization of my products goes, I like to group together similar products. Up top houses my moisturizers and larger tubs of product, since the shelving works best for smaller items. My cleansers go together, as well as my eye products, oils, etc. It sounds self-explanatory, but I know exactly where to spin when looking for a certain product at each step of my routine.

There are many great organizers out there, find the one that works best for you! I recommend using one with adjustable shelving like mine, so you can ensure that you’ll be able to accommodate for future products you plan to add to your collection!

I know this one was short but sweet, but I wanted to share a simple product that truly helped me declutter my life. If anyone has watched Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, you’ll appreciate that a simple fix can change an entire room! If you have a cluttered countertop full of makeup, haircare and skincare, I highly recommend finding an organizer that works for your space!

ULTA 21 Days of Beauty: The Deals You Should Not Miss Out On

Start your engines & get ready to run. The ULTA 21 Days of Beauty event is now here!

First of all, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! If you celebrated yesterday with green beer & partying like you were in Dublin, your skin is going to need some rejuvenating. If you’re just makeup obsessed like the rest of us, this sale is for you.

ULTA’s bi-annual mega-sale has now begun and there are way too many steals you need to get your hands on over the next 3 weeks. There are tons & tons of amazing products on sale – but I’ll be elaborating on & adding a photo of the ones I think you need to throw in that cart.

I linked all my favorite products below & they are only on sale for their respected days! So make sure to jot down your favorites in your calendar. Let’s get started shall we…

Week 1: March 17-23

If you’re in the market for a new staple in your makeup routine, this contour palette is IT! Whether you’re a pro or a newbie to contouring, this palette has all the basic you’d need & it’s 50% off. Can’t beat it.

We all know eye creams can run high prices, so when I see a good quality one on sale, I have to let you guys know! I’ve used this product before and it has done wonders for my dark circles. Pick one up if your fatigue shows on your face.

If you have a Clarisonic electric facial brush, you need this. Having a massage head is key for lymphatic drainage every morning before makeup application. If you wake up with a puffy face, this massage head will help you with that real quick!

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of Dr. Brandt. I love all of their products, but not necessarily their prices. So, that’s why I will be picking up this “botox in a bottle” for 50% off! Amazing.

week 2: march 24 – 30

This is pretty much my favorite product from Kate Somerville. Whenever my skin is feeling dull, I slap some of this one for something special. My skin truly feels more plump and hydrated after use. This discount is MAJOR!

I’m always in the market for an amazing serum that actually does something. I have heard nothing but amazing things about this Anti-Wrinkle Booster Serum. Dr. Mona Vand uses it in her morning routine so if it’s good enough for her, it’s good enough for me!

If you have an active zit, this stuff will dry it up overnight! Truly a product I will continue to purchase over and over – definitely need to stock up with this major discount.

Week 3: March 31 – April 6

If Clinique products are one thing, they are moisturizing. This product is no exception. Moisture Surge goes on smooth but doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy. This is the 72-hour one, which I love just as much as the original. If you’re wanting to try it out, getting it on this sale is smart!

If you’re a fan of the Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads (I’m addicted), these are a pretty good alternative! If you’re skin needs exfoliation and some glow, radiance pads are the way to go! I love anything from First Aid Beauty so these will be making their way into my cart!

Thank goodness, this is finally on sale! Every single time I’m at ULTA, I want to pick this up. I’ve heard amazing things & I ran through my sample size way too fast. Add to cart!

This is one of my all-time favorite brow products. Let me tell you, Benefit knows what they’re doing when it comes to brows! If you’re new to shaping or filling in your brows, buy this. It instantly makes your brows look full and structured. Half off!

Obviously there are tons & tons of other deals going on during this three week event, these were just my suggestions! Do you take advantage of this sale twice a year? If so, what are you grabbing this time around?

Honest Review: Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser

Time to tell the people what they want to know: all hype aside – how is the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser?

Apart from being a mouthful to say, I’m here to give an honest review after testing this cleanser for about a month now. First of all, I’d like to preface this review by admitting that I am a big fan of this brand. I use all of their face masks and was introduced to this product by first falling in love with the Water Drench Cloud Cream. So when I saw that they made a cleanser under the same name, I had to give it a shot.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser, $28

When trying out a product for the first time, I like to use it exactly the way it’s directed in the directions on the packaging. That way, I can avoid basing an opinion on it without using it correctly – duh. It directs you to squeeze a small amount into your hand, add water & rub hands together. This actually isn’t the way I usually use my cleansers, so I’m glad I checked the directions prior. My first initial opinion was that I loved the consistency of this cleanser. It truly felt like marshmallow fluff in my hands.

The next reaction I had was one of the negative things I have to say about this product – the smell. I think it’s safe to say that we all like our cleansers to not be fragrant necessarily, but to have a pleasing smell. Since this product has marshmallow root extract in it, I was expecting a sweet & subtle smell. This cleanser had more of a medicinal smell. Since Peter Thomas Roth is a “clinical skin care” brand, this might be expected, but I have not experienced this smell with any of their other products before. Not a huge deal breaker for me, since the smell wasn’t horrible, but still noted.

With that being said, this product works. It directs you to focus on the parts of your skin which have makeup and it claims to melt that makeup away. After using it for a month, I can say that this cleanser makes your makeup disappear! With past cleansers, I always go back over my skin with a cotton pad & some micellar water to make sure I get all the makeup off, and the pad usually comes back dirty. With this product, I am always shocked to swipe my face post-wash and get a clean cotton pad back. This cleanser breaks down high quality mascaras, foundations and eye shadows. I am still always impressed every time I use it.

Cleanser removed my mascara, BB Cream, concealer & powder.

Since a cleansers job is to obviously clean the face, I confidently can say that my skin feels the cleanest after using this product. I believe it’s used best in the morning before applying makeup. It makes your face the perfect smooth & clean canvas which makes for the best makeup & skin all day. It claims to “froth” up, which I wouldn’t necessarily say is the case, but it does act as a great creamy & milky cleanser.

To sum it all up, I will continue to use this product when I’m in the need to get a deep cleanse & makeup removal. I would say that the scent of the product is more medicinal than pleasing, so if that is a deal breaker to you, there are so many other amazing cleansers out there. If not, pick up a travel size of this at Ulta or Sephora and give it a shot before committing!

Happy cleansing!

What’s In My Shower? My Go-To Shower Products

If you couldn’t already tell – I love sharing my favorite products with you all! This week, I’m sharing my go-to products that I need when I jump in the shower to wash off a stressful day.

After searching far and wide, I’ve finally locked down some favorites that truly work for my skin & hair. Showers, for me, aren’t just used to rinse off a workout or wash my hair, they’re a time where I can relax and decompress; these products help me do that.

HAIR

Raw Sugar The Bounce Back Shampoo & Conditioner, $9.99

Taking care of my hair is the utmost importance to me, so finding the perfect shampoo & conditioner for my hair has been a struggle. After I tried Raw Sugar, I fell in love. Common hair products are packed full of harmful ingredients, I never understood that. This duo not only smells incredible, but has no parabens, sulfates or silicones, is made with organic extracts and is completely vegan/cruelty-free. After regularly using these, I noticed my hair looking shinier and feeling stronger.

dpHUE

dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse, $35

Speaking of hair miracles, direct your attention to this incredible hair rinse. I’m obsessed with celebrity hair colorist @justinandersoncolor on Instagram & he introduced me to this brand he co-founded, dpHUE. They have some pretty amazing products, one of them being this apple cider vinegar hair rinse. Apple cider vinegar helps cleanse your scalp as well as strip all the impurities right out of your hair. I use this as both a shampoo & conditioner substitute about every other week and it leaves my hair feeling softer than it’s ever been.

BODY

Formula No. 45 Coffee Body Scrub, $9.99

If you’ve seen my previous post, you’d know that I put a lot of importance in exfoliation. Scrubbing off a spray tan, dry skin or a horrible week is a necessity in my routine. This scrub from Formula No. 45 is my absolute favorite because it not only leaves my skin feeling polished, but it smells exactly like coffee & vanilla! The coffee scent is invigorating and the coconut oil its made with leaves you feeling clean and moisturized.

Skin & Co Blue In Capri Shower Gel, $22

For so long I used body washes that smelled fruity & fresh, but left my skin feeling dry and stripped of it’s natural oils. I received this shower gel from Skin & Co in my FabFitFun box last year and I haven’t stopped using it since! The scent is more earthy, which I love & actually leaves my skin feeling silky and smooth. In addition, the scent actually lasts on my skin all day. Love, love, love.

FACE

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash, $18 (on sale now for $13!)

If I’m ever in a rush to get my day started or just want to get a jump start on my skincare routine, I like to wash my face in the shower. Clean up is way easier & I don’t have to break my back hovering over the sink! Anyway, this Skin Clearing Facial Wash from The Body Shop is one of my favorites because tea tree always leaves my face feeling fresh as can be. It claims to deeply clean blemished skin and remove excess oil. If you’re looking for a cleanser to have in your shower, this one has worked wonders for me!

Shea Moisture

Shea Moisture Purifying and Hydrating In-Shower Mask, $13

If you don’t have a lot of time for self-care everyday, I suggest trying to get it done by multitasking! I love a good face mask and getting it done in the shower kills two birds with one stone. I like to slap a mask on while shaving or waiting for my conditioner to sink in. This one from Shea Moisture contains activated charcoal so it pulls dirt and impurities out of your skin and provides a deep cleanse. For an affordable price, pick it up and give it a try!

Everyone has a different shower routine; that was mine! These products haven’t let me down yet, so I keep coming back to them. It took a while to find products that actually worked for my skin & hair, so don’t be discouraged if you’re still on the lookout! I wanna hear what some of your holy grail shower products are, sound off in the comments!

Exfoliating Skincare Products My Face Couldn’t Live Without

Scrub away all of your problems.

This cold weather is personally attacking my skin. As someone who’s never had dry skin in their life, the time has come. Whether you’re in the same boat, your skin is acting up from wearing makeup everyday or your skin just needs a pick me up, you need to make sure you’re exfoliating. Scrubbing off your dead skin and thoroughly cleaning out your pores is a must if you’re interested in smooth and clear skin.

When I was shopping for my first good exfoliator, I didn’t know where to start. There are so many products out there, but how are you supposed to know which ones actually work? I’m here to help you out! Here are my must have exfoliating products you need in your skincare collection…

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate, $75

Ok, I know what you’re thinking. $75 for a product is pricey. Trust me, I’m all about a bargain. But sometimes, investing in a good product pays off tenfold. Kate Somerville is one of my favorite skincare brands and they are definitely known for this product, ExfoliKate. I’m not kidding when I say that you see results right after you use this stuff. It’s a strong exfoliator, so I only use it once a week, but it instantly leaves my skin smooth and glowing. Must have.

O.R.G Skincare Mineral Peel Face, $35

This stuff is like magic in a spray bottle. The first time I used their Mineral Peel Face, the dead skin on my face was instantly sloughing off. Since it is enzyme-based, it doesn’t feel rough on the skin like you’re rubbing sandpaper on your face. When spraying it on the skin, it feels like a serum. But once you start rubbing in circular motions, goodbye dead skin! Being on the more affordable side, pick this one up and give it a try!

Lush Cosmetics Mint Julips, $10.95

Our lips need some love, too. Especially during this winter weather, my lips have struggled. There is nothing I hate more than crusty lips so I have been reaching for this lip scrub from Lush very often. I used to be afraid of putting a product so close to my mouth, but this scrub is literally made out of castor sugar and peppermint! So, it tastes delicious and never like a chemical product. If I ever have dry skin on my lips, this stuff buffs it right off. Obsessed.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Peel Pads, $17

Drumroll please! It’s now time to talk about my favorite skincare product I use. I have been using Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads for a while now and my skin has been thanking me ever since. Each treatment comes with two steps: the Exfoliate & Smooth pad and then the Anti-Aging Neutralizer pad. Using these every week leaves my skin feeling radiant, smooth and has reduced the fine lines around my eyes.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator, $79

Last, but definitely not the least amount of money, Dr. Brandt. If you really want your skin to feel actually polished, this product will do that for you. It is a harsh exfoliator, so be prepared for the grittiness. I wouldn’t recommend this product if you have super sensitive skin, try one of the products above! But if your skin can handle it, use this in the shower when your pores are open and ready to be scrubbed!

Alright ladies! You’re ready to get on the road to smooth skin. Even though these are all of my favorite exfoliators, I use them wisely. I definitely do not use all of these products all the time, my skin would hate me! Since these products do work to scrub away skin, you need to make sure you’re not doing it too much. I use them on an as need basis, when my skin needs some help. Also, please use sunscreen after exfoliating! Your skin will be sensitive and vulnerable that day!

What’s your favorite exfoliator? Sound off in the comments!
